The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) announced Monkeypox on Wednesday that there were 477 confirmed cases of monkeypox in Canada, an increase in numbers in three states last week.

Since July 4, a total of 177 new cases have been confirmed in Japan, and the number of cases has increased by 59% in the past 9 days.

Quebec continues to account for the majority of viral illnesses, with 284 cases as of July 13, up from 211 cases last week.

However, Ontario has seen the largest increase in all states, from 77 on July 4th to 156 now. In British Columbia, the number of cases increased for the first time in a few weeks, with 29 confirmed compared to the previous four. In Alberta, eight cases continue to be confirmed, unchanged from the last update.

According to PHAC, monkeypox, which causes flu-like symptoms and skin lesions, infects humans from animals caused by the orthopox virus associated with smallpox.
